Just a Moment
Ever trending to simplicity
I sit at slack tide
marveling at the silence
rock like lava frozen in time
small boats passing
sun of a summer morn
nothing more to do now
but play flute scales
in harmony with seals
savor the sanctity of love
count the blessings of life lived full
release the hooks of blame
praise intelligence of bees
and single stalk plants rising
this sky ushers peace
bestows uncanny wonderment
of a blooming peachy rose
turns cats belly up smiling
sets stage for entertainment
virtual drama and serious sport
heaven instead of hell
Is this condition a gift or chosen
and is it mine or everyone’s?
Time will never tell.
Down the page we run
at leisure or bound for town
pausing just a moment
